University of Southampton
School of Education
one of the UK's leading centres for educational research
Why join us at the School of Education?
With more than 75 staff members the School of Education is one of the largest and most active centres of educational research in the UK. We are housed in a new £19 million landmark building offering some of the best teaching facilities on the south coast. As you would expect from one of the UK’s leading research-driven universities, our tutors have many years experience at local, national and international level in developing practice and theory in the fields of education and sport.
The Frank Corless Bursary is a 3-year funded studentship available in the School of Education. This studentship is funded through the generosity of Frank and Heather Corless via the bursary in memory of Frank Corless. The studentship reflects ESRC studentship rates covering full-time home fees and an annual stipend of £13,290. This studentship is for home students only and is available from 2009 to 2012 for an excellent candidate to study for a PhD in education that has the potential to impact on UK education and classroom practice.
