Biography

Pam is a Research Fellow in the School of Education at the University of Southampton and she is also responsible for course evaluation and market research for the Science Learning Centre South East (SLCSE). Recent projects include evaluation of the Chemistry at Work programme (for Royal Society of Chemistry); 'Me, my health and my children’s health' (funded by Wellcome People Award); teaching science and maths outdoors (funded by Astra Zeneca); and exploring post-16 psychology professional development needs (SLCSE). She is currently doing a PhD which focuses on the teaching of the origin of life in secondary school science and RE classrooms. Before working in academia, Pam was involved in market, social and media research in a variety of organisations including the Independent Television Commission, the British Board of Film Classification and the Co-operative Wholesale Society. She has also worked as a journalist on Which? magazine.
